ABOUT Emerald Finishing LLC

Emerald Finishing LLC, launched in 2022, is the 7th entrepreneurial venture founded by Gary Selwyn, PhD.  In 2012, Dr Selwyn founded Green Theme Technologies (GTT) and in 2016, Dr. Selwyn invented and patented the pressure pod technology currently being commercialized for textile finishing by GTT.

Emerald Finishing's Bio Polymer technology represents an advanced breakthrough and independent approach to textile dyeing and finishing. It does not require, and is independent of, the pressure pod technology previously developed by Dr. Selwyn. Please note that Dr. Selwyn has no current affiliation with GTT and no license is required from GTT to use the Emerald Finishing Technology.

Dr Selwyn received his PhD in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and he has over 80 technical publications, more than 35 pending and issued patents and 3 R&D 100 awards. In addition to his 25 years of work in textile finishing, he has also worked at IBM and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

A committed environmentalist and outdoorsman, Dr. Selwyn is especially proud of the Bio Polymer technology developed at Emerald Finishing. He considers it a green "gem" because of its hallmark Bio Polymer technology, its low barrier to entry, its low capital cost for licensees, its biodegradability and because it is a fully sustainable and commercially-viable technology.  It is the most advanced, most sustainable, and highest performing dyeing and DWR-finishing technology!
