Bio Polymers

Bio Polymers are macromolecules sourced from plant-based chemicals. Wood and cotton are two well-known biopolymers, but there are many others. Bio Polymers are naturally biodegradable. Ours come from a safe and sustainable supply chain - never petrochemicals!

Emerald Finishing has developed a unique polymerization method for naturally-sourced biomolecules and bio polymers that when blended together provide an outstanding finishing technology for textiles and footwear. This finish outperforms and outlasts all other dye and DWR finishing technologies. Our unique technology also enables continuous and waterless piece dyeing of cotton and many synthetic materials without highly specialized capital equipment and without waste stream effluent. Say goodbye to batch processing!

Our Bio Polymer technology is climate friendly because there is no need to heat large vats of water for dyeing, no need to heat thousands of kilograms of stainless steel pods.  The only heat required is that to cure the fabric in a stenter.

Bio Polymers work especially well with natural fibers, but they also provide outstanding performance and durability on synthetics as well, including PES, PA, acrylic and aramids. To the best of our knowledge, we are the only company focusing on Bio Polymers for DWR and dye finishing technology.
